My work often begins in the imagination, transforming internal visions into tangible forms. I draw inspiration from the greats, Bonnard, Van Gogh, and channel that influence into my own vibrant, expressive style. Color is like music to me—each hue carries rhythm and mood, adding emotional weight to the canvas.
My paintings transform classic still life and landscape themes into modern visual expressions. With a strong focus on color, chroma, texture, and composition, I strive to create vivid and compelling oil paintings. I blend realistic depictions with impressionistic techniques and modern aesthetics, aiming to offer a fresh perspective that still honors the masters of the past.
Many of my works border on abstraction through their use of color and compositional experimentation.
By combining varied oil painting techniques with bold palettes, I create images that stand on their own, alive with energy, memory, and emotion.
Born in Kraków, Poland, a city rich in history, classical architecture, and artistic tradition.
Piotr Kulikowski was immersed in the world of visual arts from an early age. Throughout his primary and secondary education, he actively studied art history and traditional techniques, building a strong foundation in both theory and practice. These early experiences ignited a deep passion for painting that has accompanied him throughout his life.
Kulikowski’s return to painting came unexpectedly during recovery from a wrist injury, when he was encouraged to paint as a form of rehabilitation. What began as therapy quickly reignited his artistic drive and led to a full immersion in his creative process. Since then, he has committed himself to refining his craft with tireless dedication and passion.
Drawing inspiration from masters such as Pierre Bonnard and Vincent van Gogh, Kulikowski’s work bridges classical foundations with modern expression. His paintings often begin in the imagination, transforming internal visions into tangible, emotionally charged images. He focuses on color, chroma, texture, and composition to create oil paintings that are both vibrant and meditative.
Kulikowski is especially known for his ability to blend realistic imagery with impressionistic and abstract approaches. His bold use of color functions like a visual symphony, bringing life and emotion to familiar subjects. Whether painting still lifes, landscapes, or dreamlike interiors, he strives to offer a fresh and personal perspective on traditional themes.
Today, his work reflects a dynamic conversation between past and present—deeply rooted in the legacy of the great masters, while seeking to expand the boundaries of contemporary painting. His richly textured canvases invite viewers to engage not only with the surface beauty, but also with the emotion and imagination behind each piece.
